Traveling With Little Ones

It’s the most wonderful time of the year but it may also be a little chaotic if you are planning to travel with small children in tow.  Here are a few tips, tricks, and helpful hints to make holiday traveling a little easier:

  • If you are traveling by plane, try feeding your child a small snack during take-off or landing to help “pop” their ears.
  • Bring familiar items along – a favorite toy or snuggly blanket may help a child feel more comfortable and secure during travel.
  • Remember to dress your child in easy-to-remove clothing to make diaper changes quick and easy.  Layers are also helpful as airplanes tend to get chilly!
  • Try and stick with your child’s normal sleeping and eating schedule as much as possible.
  • Traveling is a great way to introduce new smells, sights, sounds, and textures to your child.

Holly Ridge Center Community: Here is an update to our programs and how we are providing services to our community. Stay safe, stay healthy, and stay tuned.

Infant Toddler Program:  Holly Ridge Center continues to have the health and safety of the children and families we serve as well as our staff in the forefront of our decision making.  Currently many families are participating in services via teleintervention using Zoom and its additional security features.  Educators, therapists and Family Resources Coordinators are staying connected to families via teleintervention, phone, email and texts.  If you haven’t tried teleintervention services yet, via the Zoom platform, please consider participating, our providers are finding fun and creative ways to make these appointments special and productive.

We want families to know that this decision was not made lightly – Holly Ridge has decided that in-person playgroups and group sessions will continue to be paused until September.  If you have specific questions, please contact your provider.

Adult Employment Services: Adult Employment Services program is supporting their individuals based on their current employment status, goals and service needs.

For those needing support as they perform their essential personnel functions in public, we are practicing social distancing & stay healthy guidelines and for those Self-isolating we are reaching out in various virtual forms.
