Mike keeps the Body Shop running smoothly with sweeping, mopping, organizing, and other essential duties. He says his job “makes me happy” and that working there feels like being “with family.”

His supervisor and shop owner, Kevin Dillion, has been an incredible mentor and natural support—someone Mike looks up to and considers a positive role model.

Kevin is a huge advocate for supportive employment and community inclusion. He has family members, including children with disabilities, who will need future employment services, and deeply believes that “everyone needs a purpose in life and cannot thrive without one.”

Kevin shares that the entire team “absolutely adores Mike” and is appreciative of his eagerness to help others. He adds, Mike’s Auto Body has been grateful to be a part of Mike’s life and enjoys watching him grow professionally.

Mike appreciates the shop’s ongoing support—especially when he needs time off to help his mom and family.

When he’s not working, Mike enjoys NASCAR and racing sports, action movies, pro wrestling, and listening to classic rock from the ’50s through the ’80s.

Please join us in congratulating Mike on his hard work and dedication, and the great partnership between Mike’s Auto Repair and Holly Ridge Center!

About Adult Employment Services

Holly Ridge Center Adult Employment Services (AES) supports meaningful, competitive, integrated, person-centered employment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Employers, community organizations, public systems, and the regional workforce all gain when individuals with disabilities are meaningfully included in the labor force.

National data show turnover among employees with disabilities is just 8%, compared to 45% for other workers (APSE).

Lower turnover reduces recruitment, onboarding, and training costs—expenses that can total three to four times an employee’s annual salary, not including hidden losses such as stalled projects, increased workload for remaining staff, and decreased morale (Workable.com, 2023).

Inclusive hiring also correlates with stronger financial performance: companies leading in disability inclusion see 28% higher revenue, double the net income, and 30% higher profit margins (Accenture, 2018). Creating inclusive workplaces is not only equitable—it is a proven business strategy that strengthens local economic vitality.
