Pivoting to provide meaningful service
In January, our Virtual Social Playgroups celebrated one year of service to the families in our Infant Toddler Program. Pivoting to provide services in a meaningful way through the pandemic was important to all staff at Holly Ridge Center. Finding a way to get children together to learn and socialize was a high priority for our education team.
AnnMarie, Holly Ridge Center Educator, shared “One little boy started with us a year ago. He is an old hat at this now – he comes on, is excited to see the teacher, notices his friends, knows the songs, watches the book, and engages in the play. He will request songs and is so engaged. When he started, he was just running around the background not really noticing there was something happening.”
In addition to our typical playgroups, we are now providing a Spanish session and a Sing and Sign session. Incorporating the content each month from the At Home Learning page, children and families are getting a well-rounded, thoughtful service from our Education Team!
